Saturday - February 25^th- Just called the Hot Line Number, Right now the Flight is schedule into DFW at 2pm, we need to be in place no later then 1:15 pm at Terminal B gate B-23. We will call again tomorrow morning after 8am for an update and will post that.

02/16 – NTMC Membership Meeting 7:30pm – Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Parish 2323 Cheyenne Street, Irving TX75062. The season is quickly coming upon us; the club’s calendar is filling upwith cruises, car shows, dealer displays and road trips. Saturday - February25^th - Every day since 2004 more than 100 of ourbrave soldiers pass through DFW for two weeks of much needed and well deserved restand recuperation (R&R). A warm welcome from some of the people they arefighting for really starts their time off right. We are planning such a welcomehome from the NTMC. The date is February 25th with time and details to follow. Theflights into DFW will end in March because as of December 15^th 2011the military has formally ended its mission in Iraq (good news) so the flight is no longer needed, all troopswill go through Atlanta.

NTMC Christmas Party and White Elephant Gift Exchange

The December meeting we celebrate Christmas with a Meal and White Elephant Gift exchange. The Club will supply the meat and we ask each member to bring a Side Dish and or Dessert. A wrap gift will also be appreciated for our White Elephant Gift Exchange. Traditionally, a white elephant present is something unusual, somewhat useless, or inconvenient. Trinkets, strange knick knacks, unidentifiable kitchen items, and the like are typical white elephants, and guests are asked to wrap them nicely and to leave no identifying markings on the presents. The evening will start at 6:30 pm so we can enjoy our meal, have a real short meeting and on to the White Elephant Gift Exchange. See everyone there..

NTMC Events for Saturday 12/03/2011

It was the week before 12/03/2011 and all the members ofthe North Texas Mustang Club were getting their Mustangs ready the events onthat day.

The start of this busy Saturday the Club will be representedby 15 Mustangs as they participate in the Richardson Christmas Parade. BradDwyer has done a great job in coordinating between the club and the organizersof the Parade to make it a success and enjoyable event. If you are one of themembers who are going to represent the club in this terrific event be safe andhave a great time. Brad as sent you finalinstructions, but if you have questions please call him at 214-802-6256.

Okay we are just getting started at 9am our good friendsas well a big supporters of NTMC will open the doors for the Annual AER toy Drive.AER Toy Drive is an event like no other each year. Bill Wages has to bring outmore tables for the Toys that are collected. Besides the unwrapped gifts thatthe members bring themselves for the kids of all ages there is also the Wal-Martshopping for toys road trip. Head on over to AER, drop your unwrapped gift, socializewith other members and enjoy the hospitality from AER….

Not done yet , to complete the evening the club willagain take part in the Euless Parade of Lights. You get to decorate your Mustangor Ford Product with low voltage lights and travel the streets of Euless to thejoy of one of the largest attended parades during this time of year. Craig Granthas once again used his excellent coordinating, organizing skills to insure thesuccess of this parade.

The positions in the parade are assigned on a “somewhat“first-come basis. This doesn’t mean that we all have to arrive together. Wehave requested 360 feet of staging room for our vehicles. I plan to be at theparade check-in by 4pm to ensure that we have our allocated space. Please tryto arrive between 4 and 5 pm to allow time to get to our space and put lightson your vehicle. Any participants arriving after 6pm will have to go to the endof the parade line.

The staging area is along Midway (between Fuller-Wiserand Bear Creek). Because of the staging procedure, we don’t know exactly wherewe will be. This is another reason to give yourself plenty of time to get toEuless, find our staging area, and put your lights and decorations on yourvehicle. Jerry Poteet (the events coordinator for city of Euless) remindseveryone that no adult “Santa Claus” costumes are allowed, and no enticements(candy, toys, etc) can be handed or thrown out.

This is a fun event and we hope it meets all of yourexpectations. We will plan to go somewhere afterwards to have dinner. I willsend another email out when we have those plans finalized. My cell is214-502-5810 and Karen’s is 817-528-2214 in case you need to reach us.

Thanksgiving Message 11/22/2011

This past Sunday afterspending a few hours wrapping presents for the Denton State School the groupwent to dinner. The restaurant had a room reserved for us (Thanks Pamela) andwhile we were getting seated one of our members had gotten a phone call. I wasn’ttrying to be rude or eaves drop but one could not help but hear the joy in hervoice, it seems from what I could gather her son who had been on Tour over inIraq was now in Indianapolis on his way home. We all have so many things to bethankful for in this day and age the list of material items is long, but whenour friend received that phone call it made me think how fortunate we reallyare and how we should be appreciative of the brave son’s, daughter’s, husband’sand wives who are risking their lives to keep us free. But also the families whoare here wondering everyday how they are. That phone call made Mary and Ralphvery happy, relieved, thankful and also made this Thanksgiving Holiday extraspecial.

I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving, please take amoment to remember the many friends among us who have family members who areserving your country to keep us safe. Keep those brave men and women in yourthoughts and prayers to keep them safe so they too can make that phone call one day

NTMC Membership Meeting - Thursday 11/17

Members,
Each November NTMC collects non-perishable food for the 13 baskets we distribute to local families in time for Thanksgiving feasting. This Thursdays general meeting is when we will assemble the baskets with non-perishable food so please bring as much as you can so our friends and neighbors will know we haven't forgotten them. Thirteen members will then take a basket, complete the food basket with perishable food and deliver to a family before Thanksgiving. If you ever done this its a feeling you will cherish for a long time.

At this meeting end of the year elections will be taken place. President, Treasure, MCA Representative and three Director's positions will be voted on. Ballots are ready and will be passed out at the meeting so you cast a vote.

We are into a special time of the year for the club, we have Parades , Toy Drives and much more to share with you so please come on out the meeting this Thursday and get the information you need.

This Saturday marks the end of the 2011 Cracker Barrel Cruise season. Cruise Directors Justin, Vinny along with the club members who volunteers each month to help with putting on this event have once again out done them selves. Our November Cruise will be a special one as well, registration starts at 3pm with awards being presented at 7pm. Again this year we will accept nonperishable food donations for our annual food basket drive for Thanksgiving. Once again The Texas Outlaw Challengers will be our guest club.

The weather is going to be perfect for NTMC's last cruise so bring your cars,family and friends out and spend a great evening with your club members .

Thursday 10/20 – Members Meeting – Yes, Yes I know the Rangers are once again in the World Series with Game #2 the same night as our October meeting. The meeting is a Show & Shine with a starting time of 6:30 pm so bring your Mustangs. Pizza and refreshments will be supplied by the Club. I will call the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. With all the iphones, ipads and other communications gadgets in the room we promise to keep everyone appraised to the score.

Sunday 10/23 – Dennis Bunch Fall Picnic – at Sunnyvale Town Center Park

356 Tripp Road. Time 10am to 3pm. The club will once again supply the hamburgers,hot dogs buns and refreshment’s. Please bring a covered dish and or dessert. Game 4 of the World Series is scheduled to start at 8:05pm eastern time so plenty of time to get home. Bring the family, kids just love the playground, hang out with fellow club members, join in the games. Bring your Mustangs if you like the parking lot is just great.

Southwest Auto Group Classic Car Show. Held at Southwest Ford in Weatherford, 3000 Fort Worth Highway, Registration from 8am to 12 noon. Cost is 10.00 or 10 canned goods. Awards at 3pm. Last year we met at the IHOP on East Chase and Highway 30 for breakfast and then we cruised down 30 to Weatherford. When we arrived at the Dealership everyone at the Show site stopped what they were doing to watch us pull in. Everyone had a great time and the club won the Participation award.

Race Team is at North Star Dragway, Denton, Texas

The Race team continues to have a successful and fun year. They love to welcome new racers to their little family (just ask Vinny and Annie Muzzio). Ducati AMS OctoberFest of Dallas , 135 Leslie Street, between Industrial Blvd and Levee St. right in the heart of Dallas. The show is open to Exotic Cars, Performance Cars and Bikes. Entry fee is 10.00 with half being donated to North Texas Food Bank. Sow starts at 10am with awards at 3pm. Scott is also looking for help with Parking, Registration and Judging. I sent out a mass e-mail yesterday for a few more stand-by convertibles just in case Gerald needed. He has a eleven Mustangs right now with as many dignitaries. This is a meaningful cause as well has a good time.
Description Parade is Friday September 10th at the Stockyards in north Fort Worth and it starts promptly at 6:00 p.m. VERY IMPORTANT is the Parade line up is at 5:15 p.m., so that means we should arrive by 4:00 p.m. in order to be lined up in time for our riders to get assigned to the cars and be ready. Staging and check point area will be on the grassy, dirt area to the east of Billy Bob's on Stockyard blvd. “There's a Yellow Rose in Texas, that I am going to see”

Yes this is the week we all been waiting, planning and working towards. “The 22nd Annual Yellow Rose Classic”. As printed in this months newsletter we start:

Thursday (8/11) hanging banners at 1:30 pm and at 6pm the floor marking will start. The more volunteers we get Thursday evening the better for we have to be at 9pm.

Friday starting at 7am we continue with setup day, cars are brought in and parked, vendors directed to their place and of course the Hospitality party Friday evening. If you are helping please be at the hall 7am.

Saturday show opens, sale of tickets, merchandise sales and of course judging of all those great cars. We will also present awards for Displays, Peddle cars and the very important “Frank Reynolds Award”

Sunday final day of the show, tickets and merchandise sales, award ceremony, tear down and clean up .

If you are a Yellow Rose regular we welcome you back and appreciate your continued support, If you are new to the club, I promise you this is the coolest (no pun intended ) show you have ever been a part of and will always remember

12 days until the “Yellow Rose”

Nothing on the NTMC Calendar this weekend you ask why, what’s up with that? We usually have something to do every weekend a cruise, display, drag race or picnic what are we to do? Well, I’ll tell you why. It’s the last weekend before the 22nd Annual Yellow Rose Classic! It’s the last weekend to clean, detail, wax and polish your cars. It’s also the last weekend to catch up on your rest and get chores around the house done so you can come out and help with the show. We are always looking for volunteers for parking, ticket sales, judging and what ever may come up as our chairman says, “Don’t Be Shy” . Was this weekend planned? I will never tell, but at the end of the "Yellow Rose Show" weekend and all the cars are gone and everything is cleaned up the feeling that the NTMC has successfully pulled off its third major show this year will be your reward. Craig Grant and his show committee have worked long and hard hours planning this show. So now it’s up to the membership to pull together behind Craig and implement their plan.
Oh one more thing if the weather stays as hot as it right now what better place to be then Amon G. Carter Exhibits Hall with the coldest air conditioning system in the DFW .

Something different on a Friday night ….. NTMC will be the guest club for Friday Night Drags at Texas Motor Speedway July 29th at 6:00 PM. This year the Show and Shine and the Drags will all be held in the TMS race track infield. Cost is $20 for the Show and Shine and/or the Drags, additional persons are $7 each, and if you only want to observe the drag races and not enter your car in the show and shine or the drag races, it is $7 per person. After the Display last weekend I drove up to FT.Worth to take a picture of the Billboard for Yellow Rose Classic. Looks great good job Craig

Remember this months Members Meeting will be held at AER Manufacturing at 1605 Surveyor Blvd in Carrolton. Starts at 7:30 pm. This is the last members meeting before the Yellow Rose Classic and I know you don’t want to miss the update. Craig is always looking for volunteers and the sign up book will be handy. Worth (Nichols Ford) Tom Atteberry and this Dealership as always been a big supporter of this club and we want to continue that relationship. Y’all listen up….. Hey you guys……. Calling all Cars, Calling all Cars ….. We have our second Dealer Display of the season this Saturday the 16th at Bankston Ford of Ft.Worth (formally Hillard ) . The Sales Manager and his staff are really looking forward to having us at their Facility again. This Dealership has always been a big supporter of our Club and also the “Yellow Rose Classic”. The address is 5000 Bryant Irving Road North, Ft.Worth, TX 76132 . We will be on Display from 10am to 2pm (Plenty of shade at this dealership) and lunch will be served.

July 7 The Wounded Warriors Family Support Organization will be driving thru DFW area Thursday afternoon about 3pm. I sent out a e-mail about this great event this past Sunday but If you need more info or have questions please call George or Laura Antochy (817-703-2260 0r 817-703-2259) they are meeting Colonel John Folsom in Austin to escort him to Oklahoma where they will meet Bill Bradford and The Mustang Club of Oklahoma. July 9 is the NTMC Cracker Barrel Cruise in Lewisville. The theme for this Cruise will be the 4th of July as we celebrate the 235 birthday of our great nation. If you were at the Wild West Pony Show this past April you heard our friend Jeh Horton opened the show with our National Anthem, well he is coming to our cruise to open our July Cruise you don’t want to miss that. The North Texas Camaro Club will be our guests and we look forward to their great cars.

This weekend is Forth Worth Motorama . The NTMC will be well represented with a six car display . Show starts Friday 4pm to 10pm with Saturday hours 10am to 10pm and Sunday 10am with a 7pm closing. Show admission is 12.00 for adults and 5.00 for children from 6 to 12yrs. In and out parking passes are available at 5.00 a day. The place Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibit hall same place as our Yellow Rose Classic which is only 46 days away. So if you want to get out of the heat this weekend, get used to the Air Conditioning of this terrific Hall go on out and see the show, stop by the display, they won’t be hard to find look for the neon Mustang Sign.

Important and busy membership meeting this week we will be electing two important NTMC officers positions Vice President and Secretary along with four Board of Directors positions. Ray Coleman has done a good job talking with the members and has put together a couple of great choices for you to chose from but to cast your vote you have to be at Thursday meeting. (Ray promises to bring the ballots)

We also will have a second ballot for you to fill out. Last week I sent an E-mail about needing two Ambassadors for this years Mustang Fest . We have six candidates who are interested in representing our great club and all are terrific choices but you have to choose just two. We will speak more about this event and the requirements at the meeting.

60 days till The 22nd Annual Yellow Rose Classic. Behind the scenes while we are putting on two cars shows, cruises, parades and plenty more I could name but would reach my limit on the website, Yellow Rose Chairman Craig Grant and his staff have been planning this years show. This is a very important meeting for this show. Craig has all the posters and discount coupon’s ready for members to distribute in person to all the Ford Dealers and business’s in the Area. This sounds like tremendous effort but if you can help you will be surprise how fast all the posters are gone. Last year a few of us got together and made a day of it and just had a blast.

A few of our members are heading to Tulsa,OK for the Mid-America Shelby Meet. I have heard from several members how terrific this event is so I am sure there will be some great stories to share at the July meeting.

June 11th Cracker Barrel Cruise Highway 35E, Take the Fox exit. Registration starts at 5pm and will run threw 7pm.Justin and the cruise directors have told me they have 2 guest clubs lines up for June. The clubs are The Classic Chassis, and the Fort Worth AMC & Rambler Club with both clubs promising to bring some very interesting cars, remember the Javelin, Gremlin how about a Mercury Cyclone or even a Plymouth you never know what these two great clubs might bring. Don’t forget we can always use help with registration, parking, ballot counting and break down. So come on out make new friends or spend time with old ones, The NTMC monthly cruise is always a great time.

June 12th – NTMC Race Team – Texas Raceway, Kennedale – Gates open at 8am – Entry is 25.00 to race and 12.00 to just watch enjoy the sounds, atmosphere and excitement of the Drag Strip. This is the “Lloyd Clark Memorial Race” so where your tee shirt from last year if you can. The Race team always has a wonderful lunch for its members and guests but please bring a covered dish or dessert if you like I know they will truly appreciate that.

Actually this is not Phil, unfortunately Phil is in the Hospital. He is doing ok but he will be in the hospital intil probably next Friday, so let's keep Phil, and his family in your prayers.

Patrick Wolfe and his wife are putting together a Mustang Club Car Display, Saturday May 28th, 9am to Noon, at Dickinson Elementry School, 1902 Palmer Trail, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. It is also a fundraiser for to help the school, so please come out for the fun filled event. Contact Patrick Wolfe at 214-236-3628 for more info.

After the show we will have our monthly social at The Oasis, which is a floating restaurant at Joe Pool Lake, 5700 Lake Ridge Parkway, Grand Prarie, TX 75052.

We don’t have a lot going on this next week because we know everyone is preparing themselves and their cars for the 21st Annual “Yellow Rose Classic Car Show”. However we do have a repeat of a different kind of event for all to enjoy.

TMS DRAG & BRAG / SHINE AND SHOW ON FRIDAY 30 JULY

If you were unable to attend the TMS Drag & Brag Shine & Show Event on Friday evening 16 July, NTMC will again be the Featured Club on Friday 30 July. The TMS Drag & Brag Shine & Show Event on Friday evening July 16th was a great event. Your NTMC was the Featured Club for the event and more than 20 club members attended. Jim and Karen Harrington won Best of Show with their outstanding 1999 35th Edition Mustang Convertible. As Featured Club, the members were treated to a lap around the high banked TMS oval. Many members remained for the drag races which began at 9:00 PM, and several participated in the 1/8th mile drags.

NTMC is pleased to announce that we will again be the Featured Club on Friday evening, July 30th!! This will provide an opportunity for additional members to join the fun, participate in the car show and take a lap around the big oval race track. Register at Gate 8 near the South Tunnel between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, Car Show between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM near Gate 3 followed by the lap around the track at 8:30 PM, followed by Drag Races at 9:00 PM. Show and Oval Lap Registration is $15 for each car and driver and $7 per additional passenger. Saturday July 24th

Thanks every one who showed up at Bankston Ford in West Ft Worth (Old Hillard Ford) and displayed their great cars. I heard that it was a big success and Tom Atterberry General Sales Manager was very pleased. On a side note my 05 GT is fine and in the garage when I retuned home on Sunday (Thanks Craig).
This Saturday we get to do again at another one of Toms Dealerships. Bankston Ford of South Ft Worth (Old Nichols) 2401 East I-20 from 10am to 2pm. Both these Dealers play a big part in Yellow Rose Classic with both Display cars and Sponsorship Money. At the Membership meeting we have 13 cars signed up in advance, in order to get the 500.00 dollars from the Dealer we need at least 15. So please bring out those great Mustangs and Ford Products, spend some time with friends, chat about your cars maybe tell a story or two and help out your club collect some money for Yellow Rose. Dealer Display at Bankston Fort Worth Location July 17th:
First Dealer Display is at Bankston Ford-Mazda (formerly Hillard Ford) This dealership as alway supplied the Yellow Rose Classic with new vehicles to be on display, last year they supplied us with a hybrid Ford Fusion and if I remember correctly a HA award was won and shared because of that car. It’s important to the club that we support these dealers with a great showing of club vehicles at the displays. We would like to get variety of Mustangs both classic and new and of course other Ford vehicles are all welcome. Show time starts at 10am and ends at 2pm, no entry fee, no competition and no pressure. Just show up sit back and enjoy the time spent with friends, you might even share a story with a prospective new buyer about using all Mopar Parts on your Mustang ( I will share that with you at some time in the future).There will be a sign up sheet at the next meeting but would like to start to get a count going, so if you plan on going to either one of these displays or better yet both, please e-mail me at prez@ntmc.org or Craig Grant at cgrant@craiggrant.net and let us know.

Greetings to the North Texas Mustang Club!!! Next year Ford Motor Corporation will be introducing a newly developed engine and the Mustang brand to NASCAR. The new entry will place Ford back into the winners circle with much more frequency! Let's get a jump on Ford and NASCAR by bringing our Mustangs to the Texas Motor Speedway, the fastest oval track in NASCAR and show what the Mustang can do on the Quarter Mile and a lap around the Big Oval.

You and your Mustang are invited to participate in a car show, a lap around the high banked track and drag racing at the TMS on Friday 16 July. Registration will be at Gate 8, at the South tunnel between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, car show judging between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, a lap around the oval at 8:30 PM and drag racing begins at 9:00 PM. Cracker Barrel NTMC Saturday Night Cruise.

This Saturday is cruise night again, Last month we had 96 registered cars with a lot more that was not counted. We want to break that record and our cruise directors as well as the membership is up to the task. The Pontiac Fiero Club will be the guest club and several members from Mustang Club of America Board will be visiting with us again. The cruise always needs help with registration, parking and vote counting volunteers are needed for selling of 50/50 pot and drawer prize tickets. Registration: 5:00 to 7:00 with awards at 8:30. Please let Justin, Vinny or Tara know you want to help. See you then.

invited to race this race. it is $25 to race and $10 for spectators T-shirts
