November Member Meeting: November 18th 2021 7:30

Great news, We have our old meeting location back!!!, After more than a year without a steady member meeting location we have been able to acquire our old digs back. Our November Meeting will be held at 7:30 on Thursday November 18th at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 2323 Cheyenne Street in Irving. This of course is where NTMC has held monthly member meetings for many years prior to Covid. As a welcome back the club will be providing pizza and drinks so come hungry and thirsty.

As in years past we will once again be collecting food to fill baskets for families in need during the November members meeting. We will be filling 12 baskets so we are asking members to bring non perishable items to help fill the baskets. We will also need to find 12 families that would benefit from receiving a basket. See the attached flyer for more information.

Cruise on the Square: November 13th 2021

Saturday November 13th will be our last show of the year. As a reminder due to the time change last weekend it will be getting dark earlier so registration will begin an hour earlier at 2 pm. Show hours will be from 2pm to 6pm. During the show we will be collecting food to help fill the baskets at the members meeting. I hope to see everyone out there.

Presidential Post, NTMC News and Happenings June 9th, 2021

Presidential Post June 9, 2021

Members,

As Summer is about to begin and Texas has pretty much opened up, we can feel a real sense of normalcy that has been missing for way too long. You have probably noticed there is no shortage of car shows throughout the DFW area. With that the Board is working hard to find a place we can hold regular meetings. The church is still closed down to non-church related activities so we may have to be creative in finding a way to hold regular meetings. Bear with us as we work to re-establish our regular meetings.

Parker Square management has been gracious enough to offer the use of their indoor event center for the June member meeting which will be held Thursday June 17th at 7:30 pm with social time between 7 and 7:30. The club will be providing pizza and drinks so come hungry. We hope to see everyone there. I will have more details in the next couple days as far as getting to the event center.

ELECTIONS:

We will hold our mid-year elections during the June meeting. The following Positions will be on the Ballot. Vice President, Secretary and 4 Directors. If you are interested in running for any of the positions, please let nominating committee members, Jim Harrington and/or Jerry Flowers know. If you would like to know more about what the positions involve, please don't hesitate to contact any of the Board members.

ARLINGTON 4TH OF JULY PARADE (JULY 5th):

Since July 4th falls on a Sunday, this year's parade will be held on Monday July 5th. As in years past Bill Waible will the NTMC parade coordinator. He will have room for 6 cars plus the club trailer and tow vehicle. If you want to participate, please let him know. bill.waibel2@gmail.com

YELLOW ROSE CLASSIC CAR SHOW JULY 24TH-25TH :

Planning for the 31st annual Yellow Rose is in full swing. We are going to need plenty of help during the show to include Friday morning set up, running the admission desk, merchandise sales and judging just name a few. If you are able to help out please let the Yellow Rose Coordinator, Craig Grant know via email (cgrant@craiggrant.net). During the Cruise on the Square on Saturday we are going to try to have the poster and flyer kits ready for members to distribute to the area Ford dealerships as we have done in years past. If they are no available by then we will hand them out at the member meeting on June 17th

TEXAS STATE FAIR:

The Texas State Fair will be open this year so our traditional trip to the Texas State Fair corral will happen. Stay tuned for details as we get closer to September.

Member's only access to the NTMC web page

Compared to the membership as a whole only a small percentage of members take advantage of accessing the members only portion of the NTMC web site. To assure you have access to all the information available to you, be sure to request access to the members only area of the web site. This will require a g-mail address to add you to the group. If you don't use g-mail, that's ok. Just create a G-mail account so we can add you to group giving you access to the members only portion of the site. Send your request to Steve Gold at info@ntmc.org .

Missing Emails

If someone mentions to you, they stopped receiving emails or the pony corral from NTMC ask them to check their junk mail folder. They can also send an email to: Info@ntmc.org with their name email address and phone number so we can verify the information is correct on the email lists. NTMC Presidential Post, Events and Happenings March 3rd 2021

Members,

We are well in to the new year and cruising along towards show season. With an increasing availability of vaccine, covid cases on the decline and the state restrictions coming to an end, I am cautiously optimistic we will be able to resume our monthly member meetings at some point in the near future. It is likely we will need to hold the meetings at an outside location so my preference would be to have it on a Saturday or Sunday in the early afternoon. The BOD will discuss the possibilities and come up with a plan so stay tuned.

As you may recall the board reduced the renewal dues for members paid up as of December 1st 2020 to $20 if you renewed by March 1st. If you didn't have a chance to renew by March 1st, don't worry. The date has been extended to March 31st so please get your renewals in.

PONY CORRAL: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING LATELY?

With very few activities going on we are still experiencing a lack of content for the Pony Corral. For the time being the Pony Corral will be coming out bi-monthly. As usual if you have any articles or pictures you think would be of interest to the membership, please send them to NTMCnews@Gmail.com. I would think many of us have been doing some work our cars during this past winter. if you have any stories or pictures to share please do.

IMPORTANT: MARCH MEMBERS MEETING CANCELLED:

As mentioned earlier we are hoping to begin meeting on a regular basis soon. The board understands the need to meet regularly so we are continuing to search for a suitable location. Since we are moving towards the beginning of our warmer months and we are now moving in a positive direction in regard to covid I am hoping we can find a place to hold meetings. If anyone has any ideas as to where we can try to hold a meeting please let us know.

AUTORAMA:

The arctic blast during Autorama week caught many off guard. The show did go on but was exceptionally smaller than it has ever been. 54 crazy car owners, me included, braved the weather and made it a somewhat respectable show. NTMC was able to put together a smaller than normal display made up of three cars and a club display table without the neon sign all surrounded by stanchions. I would like to thank Phyllis Crouch for all the work she put in to making sure we had the best looking display at the show under the circumstances. A big thanks to Jim and Karen Harrington, Robin, Max and Jason Olmos, George Antochy and Craig Grant for helping set the display up and tear it down. If I have forgotten anyone else that helped I apologize.

CRUISE ON THE SQUARE: APRIL 10th 3pm - 6:30pm

It's that time of year when we start planning for our first Parker Square Cruise on The Square. As in years past the show doesn't go on without Lynda Millers efforts as well as a ton of help from the members. This year will be no different. We will need help parking cars, running the registration table, handing out ballots and counting the votes. If you are able to help please get with Lynda Miller (972)697-5872, or email her at picmroln@outlook.com.

MANSFIELD PICKLE PARADE:

The event organizers have cancelled all Pickle Festival events. Unfortunately that means no pickle parade this year.

PALESTINE DOGWOOD FESTIVAL:

The Palestine parade has been cancelled and the car show has been postponed to October 23rd. We will be discussing some alternatives at the board meeting next week and will keep you posted.

SPRING NATIONALS: POSTPONED TO SEPTEMBER

Due to covid concerns the Spring Nationals location is not available. We have postponed the show to September so look for more details as we get closer to that date.

YELLOW ROSE: JULY 24th-25th 2021

Yellow Rose planning is well underway. The save the date cards have been mailed and emails have been sent to past participants. As we get closer to July we will be asking for volunteers to help on load in day as well as during the show. Craig Grant has taken on the duties of coordinating the show. We decided to try online registration this year through MOTOSHO which should streamline the registration process.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Cruise on The Square: April 10th Parker Square, Flower Mound

National Mustang Day: April 17th, Working on a possible plan for the day. Stay tuned.

Autorama

I hope everyone has been safe over the past few days with this crazy weather we have been having.

Phyllis and I spoke this morning about the road conditions throughout the metroplex and the logistics behind getting the display equipment to Dallas Market hall. After considering the current weather and road conditions as well as projected weather conditions over the next 36 hours it was decided it is too risky to transport the equipment.

We will not be loading the trailer in Irving tonight so there is no need to show up.

If you planned to show your car in the club display you will still have a space for your car and are more than welcome to show your car, however keep in mind the NTMC display will not be set up. I will try to get a small display together with our standup banners to at least advertise the club to the spectators.

Thanks and be safe out there.

Bill
